Epic Application Analyst II - Epic Research Job Summary Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an experienced Epic Application Analyst II to join our newly established Epic Research Team . This is an exciting opportunity to help build and enhance Epic Research capabilities that support clinical research initiatives across the organization.The ideal candidate will have hands-on Epic Research Build experience , including designing, configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting Epic Research functionality. Experience building Epic Research models is highly preferred, along with the ability to collaborate with research teams, clinical stakeholders, and technical partners to optimize research workflows.
Candidates with experience supporting Epic Research and functionality such as MyChart Recruitment, Study Finder, SmartText, Research Studies, OPA (Open Scheduling/Patient Access), research-related workflows, and Epic Research model build are strongly encouraged to apply.
Clinical research experience or experience supporting research operations within an Epic environment is a significant plus.

Essential Responsibilities
• Design, configure, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Research applications and workflows.
• Build and support Epic Research models that improve research operations and investigator workflows.
• Analyze business and clinical requirements and translate them into effective Epic application solutions.
• Partner with research teams, clinicians, operational leaders, and technical stakeholders to optimize research workflows.
• Create, modify, document, and maintain Epic build while following organizational standards.
• Develop and execute testing plans for new functionality, enhancements, upgrades, and optimizations.
• Troubleshoot application issues and recommend solutions that improve system performance and user experience.
• Coordinate application updates, communicate changes, and provide ongoing support to end users.
• Develop workflow documentation, technical specifications, and user training materials.
• Participate in Epic upgrades, maintenance, optimization projects, and new implementations.
• Serve as the liaison between operational teams, research stakeholders, Information Services, and Epic.
Key Success Factors
• Strong knowledge of Epic Research Build and Epic application configuration.
• Experience building and maintaining Epic Research models .
• Understanding of clinical research workflows and healthcare operations.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into scalable Epic solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience creating test scripts, validating build, and supporting Epic upgrades.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clinical, operational, and technical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
Required Qualifications Education
• Bachelor's degree OR four (4) additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of Epic application analyst experience.
• Experience building and supporting Epic applications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Epic Research Build experience strongly preferred.
• Experience building Epic Research models strongly preferred.
• Clinical research experience preferred.
• Experience supporting research participants, investigators, or research coordinators.
• Experience with MyChart Recruitment, Study Finder, SmartText, OPA, and related Epic Research functionality.
Certification
• Epic Certification required (EPICCERT or EPICACRD).
• Epic Research certification or demonstrated Epic Research Build experience is strongly preferred.

Job Summary Primary responsibility is to configure and provide functional and technical help for specific applications to business and clinical users. Part of the responsibility is to partner with end users to interpret the workflow and its interdependencies. Make corrective adjustments or enhancements as needed. This role is the central point of communication for various users and coordinates all activities for the IS organization. Assist with testing, recommend corrective actions, and resolve problems within the software application. Provide help for normal maintenance of upgrades and system maintenance.
Essential Functions of the Role
• Provide testing and documentation of workflows, data collections, and end-user report details. Address other technical issues with applications, considering both vendor and internal stakeholder needs.
• Create, modify and track system build timely and effectively.
• Create and execute test scripts for new system builds.
• Implement system updates and changes, and communicates those changes to super users and end users.
• Provide ongoing application help and end user training for all helped applications.
• Engage, manage, and communicate to all stakeholders.
• Solve problems by studying business issues/requirements, studying workflows and synthesizing key messages.
• Assist in the coordination of training materials and schedules for all super users and end users.
• Serve as liaison between end users, subject matter experts and vendor implementation team.
Key Success Factors
• Interpret end user workflows. Know the inputs and outputs from both end user and patient perspectives.
• Ability and experience expertise end user workflow and owning the technical components of that workflow.
• Ability to work well in team environments and facilitate integrated meetings.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, workflow tools, and email software applications in an intermediate capacity.
