Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead the development assigned to your team of 5-6 members, ensuring timely and accurate delivery assigned projects
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Provide key actuarial SME inputs to help the coder(s) understand the requirement. Present complex financial concepts to non-finance experts and make a strong contribution to the product design process.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives to build strong technical and domain expertise within the team
- Lead design discussions with coders and present proposals to the head of the work stream for finalisation.
- Provide detailed commentary on changes from existing tools, highlighting efficiencies, automations, and improved controls.
- Balance competing demands, ensuring timely updates and visibility, and escalate prioritisation decisions as needed.
- Deliver clearly defined outputs within agreed timescales, adhering to established frameworks and procedures.
- Review testing outputs, deliver appropriate testing and control documents, and maintain an audit trail and version control for spreadsheet controls
- Ensure up-to-date documentation and checklists for implemented processes, supporting future product enhancements.
- Active stakeholder engagement at every gate way of the AMVC control framework which includes presenting understanding of the requirements, mock ups , design plan and final delivery of the project.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

- Experience of Python, Workflow Management/Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Business Intelligence (visualisation) tools.
- Seek and act on opportunities to develop technical and business understanding.
- Suggest and support process improvement initiatives

- Experience of leading a team in the redesign and implementation of reporting processes

- Ability to balance multiple competing demands, providing timely and accurate updates and ensuring appropriate visibility and escalation of prioritization decisions.
- Experience of Excel, Python, Workflow Management/Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Business Intelligence (visualization) tools.
- Good written communication skills to be able to produce meaningful documentation of the developments or testing performed
- Good planning and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal
- Good working knowledge to produce Process Maps using Visio or similar tools
- Workflow development experience
- Databricks/Python/Azure Devops Experience
- Junior resource management
- Resourceful in finding solutions and identifying sources of help and information
- Flexible approach to responsibilities, working hours, and willing to travel if required
- Track record of being a fast learner as evidenced by job performance
- Good team player - the execution stage is crucial to the success of the project and it is essential to be able to contribute fully to the team effort
- 8+ years' experience in the latest technology, with good people management experience.
- Nearly qualified / qualified Actuary from an accredited actuarial institute or professional body
- A numerical based degree or Post Graduate qualification
- Good technical understanding of various tools and techniques used e.g. Python, Workflow Management/Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Business Intelligence (visualisation) tools
