The Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between strategic business objectives and technical execution. This role is dedicated to analyzing complex business challenges, identifying high-value opportunities for optimization, and providing actionable recommendations that align with the organization's long-term growth strategy. The Senior Business Analyst functions as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, a collaborator with cross-functional teams, and a guide for translating business needs into technical solutions.
This position requires the ability to evaluate and interpret large amounts of business data, processes, and workflows, then turn insights into concrete recommendations. The Senior Business Analyst ensures that organizational initiatives are supported with robust analysis, well-defined requirements, and effective stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities
1. Business Requirements Gathering and Documentation
Lead the end-to-end collection, clarification, and documentation of business requirements for complex, high-impact projects spanning multiple departments or regions.
Partner with stakeholders across business units to ensure requirements are accurately defined, prioritized, and agreed upon.
Translate strategic objectives into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Produce clear, structured documentation such as requirements specifications, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria that can be easily understood by technical and non-technical stakeholders.
2. Business Process Evaluation and Optimization
Assess existing business processes, systems, and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Facilitate re-engineering initiatives that streamline processes, eliminate redundancies, and drive measurable operational improvements.
Develop process models, workflow diagrams, and performance dashboards to map current and future-state processes.
Collaborate with process owners and subject matter experts to ensure recommended improvements are realistic, cost-effective, and aligned with best practices.
3. Solution Design and Support
Work closely with IT teams, solution architects, and vendors to validate proposed solutions against documented business requirements.
Actively contribute to solution design workshops by offering insights from both a business and user perspective.
Support development and testing phases by clarifying requirements, resolving ambiguities, and validating deliverables against agreed specifications.
Ensure that proposed solutions are scalable, sustainable, and capable of meeting both current and future business demands.
4. Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation
Act as the primary liaison between business users, technical teams, and external partners to ensure alignment on objectives, scope, and deliverables.
Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and one-on-one sessions with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and refine solutions.
Build strong relationships with senior leadership and functional heads to ensure their strategic needs are reflected in project outcomes.
Manage stakeholder expectations by providing clear communication, realistic timelines, and proactive updates on project progress.
5. Data Analysis and Business Case Development
Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, measure performance, and evaluate potential solutions.
Utilize tools such as Excel, SQL, and business intelligence platforms to generate insights that inform decision-making.
Build robust business cases and feasibility studies that articulate the value, risks, costs, and benefits of proposed initiatives.
Present findings and recommendations in a way that is accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring decision-makers have the information they need to act with confidence.
6. Reporting and Communication
Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management, highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure all project-related communication is clear, concise, and tailored to the audience-whether executives, project managers, or technical staff.
Develop standardized templates and reporting mechanisms that enhance transparency and consistency across projects.
Serve as a thought partner to leadership by providing insights on market trends, industry benchmarks, and organizational performance.
7. Mentorship and Team Development
Provide mentorship, guidance, and coaching to junior business analysts and other team members.
Share knowledge of best practices, tools, and methodologies to uplift the overall capability of the analysis function.
Lead by example in stakeholder management, analytical rigor, and professional conduct.
Support the professional development of team members by creating opportunities for learning and growth.
8. Continuous Learning and Industry Awareness
Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to business analysis and digital transformation.
Participate in professional communities, attend relevant seminars/webinars, and engage with thought leadership material.
Proactively suggest innovative approaches and tools that can enhance Classera's business analysis practices.
Ensure that personal knowledge and skills remain current, enabling the delivery of high-quality, future-ready solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline .
Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly desirable, reflecting advanced business and analytical knowledge.
Strong academic grounding in business process analysis, organizational behavior, information systems, or project management.
Formal certifications (such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA) are considered an advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
Demonstrated track record of leading large-scale or complex business analysis projects across multiple functions or geographies.
Proven success in eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements for technology-enabled transformation initiatives.
Hands-on experience in business process modeling, optimization, and re-engineering .
Experience working in diverse industries such as EdTech, FinTech, or enterprise technology is preferred.
Evidence of having delivered measurable improvements in efficiency, cost reduction, or user satisfaction as a direct result of business analysis work.
