Position Summary:
The Web Team Specialist will play a key role in supporting and enhancing A State's institutional web presence. This position will primarily focus on maintaining and improving the University's website, while also providing temporary support for select custom web applications until their transition to the Systems team is complete. After transition, the role will focus exclusively on website operations and support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Website Management & Content Development
- Serve as a power user of the University's content management system (Modern Campus CMS), capable of building, editing, and optimizing web pages using templates, widgets, media assets, and other CMS tools.
- Advise and support academic and administrative departments in creating and managing web content that aligns with A‑State's communication strategy, branding guidelines, and SEO best practices.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SEO‑driven content - especially academic and program pages - to effectively reach prospective students and other key audiences.
- Create and support the development of digital assets and collateral for web display in alignment with university branding and accessibility standards.
- Produce original content with appropriate tone and messaging tailored to the office, program, or audience represented.
- This also includes content management and maintenance of A-State Knowledgebase.
- Administration of A-State Campuswide Chatbot platform
Quality Assurance, Accessibility & Compliance
- Ensure all web content meets the University's electronic accessibility standards and applicable legal requirements.
- Actively monitor University websites for broken links, accessibility issues, policy violations, outdated content, and errors; work with content contributors to make timely corrections.
- Continuously evaluate and improve website organization, usability, performance, and consistency.
- Review relevant analytics and adjust web strategies based on data insights and best practices.
Training, Collaboration & Support
- Provide periodic training seminars and one‑on‑one support for CMS users, highlighting capabilities, updates, and new features.
- Respond to requests from campus units in a timely manner, offering solutions that meet communication and content needs.
- Collaborate with ITS teams, Marketing & Communications, and other partners to ensure a unified, user‑centered web experience.
Other Responsibilities
- Stay informed on emerging trends in web content strategy, SEO, accessibility, and digital communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals and operations of the ITS Web Team.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of computer system hardware and software, computer user requirements, and system design procedures
Ability to develop computer programs, analyze and modify existing computer systems, assist analyst team in the design and maintenance of computer system processes, and determine costs and resource requirements of projects
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree related to the area of assignment
All degrees must be received from an appropriately accredited institution.
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
