- Digital Content Manager
Description
The Digital Content Manager digitizes and manages access to the museum’s collection of audio and visual recordings. The position contributes to exhibitions, programming, publications, online, digital archive, and other museum initiatives. This role will also manage content across our website, social media channels, and other digital platforms to drive engagement, increase visibility, and access to the Museum’s holdings. The role holder will have experience working with websites, digital content management systems and editing tools. They will have a creative flair, excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to demonstrate close attention to detail.
Requirements
*Applicants should have a degree or equivalent in a related field of study (Library and Information Science, Archival Studies, Museum Studies, Communications, Marketing)
*Working knowledge of archival and digitization standards for recorded audio and video collections
*Working knowledge of current and historic recorded sound formats
*Demonstrate expertise with obsolete recorded sound playback equipment
*Proficiency with recorded audio and video digitization hardware and restoration software
*Applicants must be social media savvy with demonstrated experience in social media management on various platforms
*Must be willing to learn new technologies and strategies
*Experience in working with Squarespace
*Must have excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
*Demonstrate understanding of the scholarly use of archival collections and of current developments in the field
*Experience working with recorded audio and video collections in a library, archive, or museum
